Something Beautiful

Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens. Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy in his dwelling place. 1Chronicles 16:10-11; 25-27 (NIV)

Where wanting and getting meet.
I want something beautiful to touch me.
So, I need to be where I will run into it.
God’s word is beautiful.
He is the master artist. Weaving words together to create a tapestry of human lives and reaching out of eternity to touch me. He takes my breath away.
I am no longer content to be entertained. I want to be transformed.
He offers His hand and I’m welcome to hold it, but I must walk where He walks.
He loves me no matter what, right where I am, but He is not willing to let me stay there.
Our conversations will not be on the surface, but He will dive down into my soul and pull up things that I’ve worked my entire life to hide.
He will shatter my perception of myself and show me who I really am.
It will be an act of my will to stay with Him at first.
Leaving what is familiar for what is better is not easy.
I have clearly heard His voice. I have wrestled with Him for over a year. It’s not universal truth – it’s His precious words only for me.

“Stop looking around at everyone else, sweet girl.” I can hear Him say. “This is what I want you to do. Will you follow me?”
“Oh, why me? I am so unworthy of any personal attention at all from You. I’ve spent the majority of my life pushing you away and crapping all over the blessings You gave me.”
“That’s why you. It is not the healthy that need a doctor.”

I’m all in. It’s not about me, but about what He wants to do through me.

But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds. Psalm 73:28 (NIV)HeHe   down into my soul.
